What you need to know about Financial Aid...​

More than $185 billion in aid is available! (federal government, state governments, universities, private organizations)

To qualify for the majority of types of aid you must fill out the FAFSA www.fafsa.gov (opens October 1st of your senior year)

The FAFSA gives you access to: grants, scholarships, work-study jobs, and loans

Once you have completed the FAFSA, you should then apply to in house financial aid (at the colleges you are applying to) and private scholarships (see below).

A few tips from your counselor...

Universities want to see that you are not only a great academic student, but also a well-rounded person with a specific focus on how you will make a positive change in the world.

Look into summer programs and/or research opportunites offered at colleges/universities you are interested in.
